Event Hub

📝 Event Hub Web Design Overview 📌 Project Overview Event Hub is a dynamic web platform created to streamline event discovery and event listing for two key user groups: event seekers and event organizers. The platform was designed to cater to both individuals and companies, offering a unique niche feature—the inclusion of product launches and startup demo events, setting it apart from generic event listing sites. 🔍 User Research & Persona Development To design a user-centric experience, the process began with an intensive user research phase. I conducted surveys targeting both potential event organizers and event seekers to understand their goals, frustrations, and expectations from a platform like Event Hub. The insights led to the creation of two core personas: Persona A – An Individual Event Organizer (e.g., someone planning a local workshop). Persona B – A Tech Enthusiast Event Seeker (interested in startup demos and product launches). Persona C – A Corporate Event Company Representative (looking to manage and promote large-scale events). These personas helped guide design decisions throughout the entire process by ensuring that the platform spoke directly to the specific needs of each user type. ✍️ Ideation & Low-Fidelity Wireframes Based on research findings and persona needs, the ideation process began with sketches and low-fidelity wireframes to explore layout structures, navigation flows, and usability. This initial prototype allowed for quick feedback loops and rapid validation of design ideas, especially regarding how users browse events or list their own. 🎨 High-Fidelity Design & Feature Scope Once the low-fidelity prototype was validated, it evolved into a fully detailed high-fidelity prototype, incorporating visual aesthetics, branding, and interaction states. The final scope of the design included: Landing Page: A welcoming home for first-time users, showcasing featured events, categories, and the unique startup demo section. Authentication Pages: Custom-tailored sign-up and sign-in flows for both individuals and event companies. User Dashboards: Individual Organizer Dashboard: For personal event creation, tracking, and performance. Company Organizer Dashboard: For managing multiple events, access control, and analytics. Event Seeker Profile: Allowing users to bookmark events, register, and manage interests. Startup Demo & Product Launch Page: A dedicated spotlight section showcasing upcoming tech product launches and innovative startup demo events. Admin Dashboard: A centralized system for overseeing platform activity, user approvals, content moderation, and event vetting. 🧪 Usability Testing & Iteration The high-fidelity prototype underwent rigorous usability testing involving participants from each of the defined personas. The testing sessions evaluated core flows such as: Event discovery and filtering Event submission process Registration and dashboard usability The feedback received was analyzed and used to refine and iterate the design further. Pain points were addressed, and usability improvements were made, especially for the admin flow and multi-role sign-up experience. 💡 Key Takeaways This project significantly expanded my understanding of designing for multi-sided platforms. It challenged me to empathize with diverse user roles—from casual event-goers to structured company representatives—ensuring their unique needs were met on a single unified platform. The versatility required in crafting a coherent and seamless experience across varied personas was both demanding and enriching. ✅ Outcome The final prototype delivered to the client was user-tested, responsive, and feature-complete, reflecting a robust and scalable foundation for development. Event Hub now stands as a flexible platform, capable of supporting both everyday events and high-profile tech showcases, with a thoughtful and inclusive design at its core.
